25 years of making a difference in the lives of oncology patients in Santa Catarina.

Since its inception in 1998 as a private, non-profit association, Grupo Elora has pioneered the introduction of clinical research in Oncology and Hematology in the region.

Over the years, we have conducted more than 200 research protocols, bringing significant advancements to cancer treatment and benefiting thousands of patients.

Grupo Elora plays a fundamental role in the training of resident physicians and in the promotion of continuing medical education in Oncology and Hematology in Santa Catarina.

1998

The Foundation of CEPEN

The Center for Research and Health Education of Santa Catarina (CEPEN) was born in 1998 as a private non-profit association, with the mission of innovating in clinical research. From the beginning, CEPEN stood out for its dedication to cancer treatment, becoming a pioneer in clinical research in the region.

2000–2022

Growth and Impact

Over more than two decades, CEPEN conducted approximately 280 clinical studies across oncology, hematology, and pulmonology. During this period, about 1,350 patients were cared for, many benefiting from innovative therapies not yet available on the market.

Expansion and New Horizons

The year 2023 marked a new phase for CEPEN. With the expansion of its facilities at Baía Sul Medical Center, the center expanded its research to other medical specialties. With 28 ongoing studies and 6 in recruitment, CEPEN reinforced its commitment to being a continuous source of hope and innovation for its patients.

The Transformation into Grupo Elora

In August 2024, CEPEN became Grupo Elora, symbolizing the union of experience and innovation. The name Elora, combining the words "ELO" (Link) and "AURORA", reflects the mission of connecting patients to a new dawn, offering access to cutting-edge treatments and maintaining focus on humanized, safe care.

With 50 active patients currently, Grupo Elora continues to be a bridge to new possibilities in life. The group not only preserves CEPEN's legacy, but expands it, promoting accessibility to advanced treatments and spreading healthcare innovation. We are driven by life, discoveries, and the commitment to transforming the future of oncology and other medical specialties.
